What I love about doing hair is being able to transform someone and enhance their beauty
...I was born and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After graduating from high school I moved to Omaha, Nebraska where I attended college at Creighton University from 1998-2002 and graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology. However, hair and beauty have always been a passion of mine growing up... so one month after I received my degree I enrolled in cosmetology school @ Capitol School of Hairstyling in Omaha. 2100 hours later, I graduated and passed my licensing exam and began working at a hair salon in Omaha.
in 2006, I moved to Raleigh to be near family and for a change of scenery. After interviewing with many salons in Raleigh, I fell in love with Douglas Carroll Salon & Spa. The salon had everything I was looking for: upscale, education driven, full service salon & spa, and many talented hairstylists. Being new to the area I was willing to start off assisting. I assisted Doug for 3 months before he asked me to be his colorist. After 9 months of being Doug's colorist, I went on to have my own chair at the salon.
I love to see my client's faces and how happy and excited
and the boost in confidence and self esteem they get from a
simple haircolor, highlight, or haircut. My clients are fun
to talk to, carefree, special, unique, worldly and open
minded. It is a privilege to do their hair.
During my 4 years @ the salon, I've gone to the TIGI Advanced Academy in New York and in Dallas. Then in 2009 the entire salon went to the Goldwell Academy in Baltimore for advanced color & cutting education.
My favorite thing to do is coloring & highlighting hair... I also enjoy curling and styling long hair. I love participating in our annual hairstyling photo shoot. It gives me a chance to be creative with my color, cutting & styling! I received quite an honor to have 2 covers for my haircolor work. One from 2007 and one for this past photo shoot. And I do enjoy cutting hair too.

I am engaged to the most wonderful man ever. We are planning our wedding now and have set the date for September 4, 2010. The date means a lot to us because it happens to be my parents anniversary and also one of my sister's anniversary.

I am a vegetarian going on 8 years now. My fiance is a vegetarian too. We enjoy having a very healthy lifestyle.

I enjoy running. I ran my first half marathon, the Tobacco Trail Half Marathon in Cary, this past March in 1 hour and 53 minutes, and I am currently training for my first full marathon June 13th in Pennsylvania (The 1/2 Sauer 1/2 Kraut Marathon) which I hope to do in 4 hours or less!

I enjoy traveling, and wish I could afford to do it more. I would love to see the world.
